About UsWho we are and where we came from
In 2008, the company launched, focusing on helping companies leverage technology as a strategic enabler for achieving their business objectives. Thought Ensemble gained recognition as a leading provider of technology strategy, and soon after, the founders published a book on the topic – Reboot: Competing with Technology Strategy. Within that book, our founders outlined the “4 Things Model”, which Thought Ensemble used as a framework for looking at problems and opportunities from different angles.
As “Digital” came into the mainstream and became a top focus for CEOs across industries, Thought Ensemble’s growing team worked alongside its clients on more and more transformative efforts. Over the years and countless hours spent working side-by-side with our clients, from a tech strategy’s inception-to-implementation, we repeatedly witnessed gaps in how transformations were planned and organized. These gaps often derailed and stalled the projects. Though the tangible evidence was there, what could be done to increase the success of these large-scale, transformative, tech-rooted implementations?
Just like our simple idea that sparked the creation of Thought Ensemble – that there was a better way to consult – we believed that there was a better way to turn visions into reality.
We knew that strong Project Management was imperative, but it wasn’t enough to just implement these large-scale changes. Instead, we identified that there was a lack of upfront conversation and planning around how the strategy was going to impact the end users – both internally and externally. Change is difficult; changing minds, changing behaviors, changing what people know and do. Yet, organizations direct most of their energy toward “the big shiny goal” rather than the nitty-gritty, slow gaining decisions.
Truthful to who we are and what we stand for, Thought Ensemble evolved to fill in this service gap and better serve our clients.
Evolving from our initial 4 Things Model, we developed our Transformational Lenses to help identify gaps and overlaps that need attention when navigating the transformation journey. These Lenses, combined with our strong disciplines in Strategy, Architecture, Leadership Alignment, Program Management, Change Management, and Investment Planning, help us reduce the risk and increase the success of every transformation. Our core Ensemble has evolved accordingly, while we also maintain strong partnerships with those that shifted to new adventures.
These days, we focus on business transformation, often around complex technology changes. With the pace of change moving faster and faster in every industry, we pride ourselves in being experts at the business of transformation. Our purpose is to help every one of our clients achieve their vision for transformation. We also hope every company will be better for us having been there, better at navigating transformation in this world where the only constant is change itself.
