Roadmap and Development Process

Case Study

Project Overview

The CEO, VP of Product, and VP of Technology at our client realized their technology was not keeping up with the changing digital ad market. While they once were a leader in providing cutting edge, ad-serving technologies, their competitors had leap-frogged their platform and had started to encroach on their white glove customer service model. TE was engaged by the client to deep dive their current SCRUM approach and determine how it was functioning for product development, as well as evaluating how internal operations users used the platform to support customers. TE recommended and designed a new approach that split their software development model by work type: a more well functioning SCRUM concept for ongoing support and enhancements to remain highly responsive to the internal operations’ user’s needs with an iterative model that applied more development “guide rails” for external customer, product initiatives.

The Results

  • Clearly defined development approach to drive product to markets faster using repeatable processes with defined artifacts, terminology and decision-making principles
  • Improved efficiency via clear accountabilities (Product Management, Ops Organization and the Technology Group)
  • Ongoing roadmap process that enhanced executive visibility into product planning along with increasing daily stakeholder alignment on priorities related to support
